an eclipse tale
Shedding. Shedding the layers to return to core. The center of my truth. The story weaves into form.
The winding road of this new way of life has led me down the Atlantic coast of Brazil. Now it brings me across the continent to greet the Pacific to learn techniques of restorative healing and integration. As I sit here, in reflection of the last two weeks writing in a small cafe in the small town of Pichilemu, Chile, known for it’s big wave surfing, I’m finally able to collect my thoughts of this memorable eclipse season. The sea roars. I ride the rolling waves of an unfolding destiny.
I believe in destiny + agency. Destiny is there for you to attain. Though if you refuse the call, it will pass you by
The day before leaving Florianópolis and before the Libra Lunar eclipse, I sat in communion to take in the thick nectar of the Amazon. The connection was strong and the lessons potent. Feeling the rich soil and the endless intertwining vines of the jungle. Conversations were shared with with Mother Earth internally and through trees, snails, a centipede, and the spirit of the fire. Special moments were also had with the stars above, particularly the constellation Orion, then with Mars, and the Moon. All sharing thoughts of a deep remembrance.
In a particular moment, I spoke to Her asking for the forgiveness of humanity’s great ignorance towards her. She silenced me and with an immense wisdom and loving compassion she unveiled to me my path for growth. Showing me that the way to heal the all, is to illuminate the one. The restoration of humanity requires everyone’s participation. Support and compassion between us all. In this day and age a seemingly impossible thought with so much hurt and hate the world over. Though daunting, we must continue to walk our own paths and come together the best we can.
Through vision I was shown glimpses of my potential of what my connections and relationships can be. A bright path that weaves as a golden thread around the globe. This reality is near yet requires great work and attention. I accept that the day to day may not manifest into such a dreamy truth, however that glimpse is enough to continue forward. I was shown the type of person I can be, the good that I can do… Who I can be. Who I am.
Potential. Responsibility.
Responsibility to self, to my work, my art, my relationships, the world herself.
Will I be able to step up to reach the golden path?
The red path… ?
The next morning, in the subsiding vibrational trance I went directly to the airport to make my way to Santiago, Chile. From Uber ride through security in glowing radiance. Once at the gate with time to spare, I went through my mental checklist from the sleepless night before and proceeded to send lengthy voice messages to all the people I needed to clear the air with or who I had recently failed to properly communicate with.
I arrived to Santiago in a sleepy haze with a nice collection of heartfelt and reassuring voice messages. Once there, I met with friends to make our way a couple days later to beautiful Isla Negra. We were there to attend a 5-day retreat on restorative healing through sound. This work allowed me to integrate the previously gained(/remembered) lessons even further and showed me new ways to root and fortify. The strong and lifelong connections made here brought us south to the beach town of Pichilemu.
This town utterly captured my heart. Hours before committing to the decision to go, in our closing meditation I had visions of the sea from this town and I knew I had to go. Upon arriving there was the feeling of an energy, a certain sensation I’ve only felt a couple times before in my life. We were told the feeling is due to the layer of quartz under the town. Regardless of the reason I felt the sensation that I was exactly where I needed to be.
Here three of us from the retreat stayed in a spare cabin owned by our new found friend, María, her partner Carlitos, and their dog Magó. The family welcomed us in and brought us to meet the water.
After a few days the other two left and I remained a couple of days longer to give myself time to sit with the powerful waves.
Now onwards to Río De Janeiro.
